CISO Sydney

FAQS

About CISO Sydney

What is CISO Sydney?

CISO Sydney is one of Australia’s leading cybersecurity conferences, bringing together senior information security decision-makers to discuss cyber resilience, AI security, governance, identity, risk management and leadership. The event is designed for cybersecurity executives who are responsible for protecting organisations while enabling business growth and innovation.

Built around the 2027 themes of The Confidence Gap, The Attention Economy of Risk, Beyond the Illusion of Control and Operating at Machine Speed, the conference helps security leaders understand emerging threats, benchmark their approach against peers and gain practical insights they can apply within their organisation.

Held at Royal Randwick Racecourse, CISO Sydney runs alongside a portfolio of co-located cybersecurity events, providing attendees with access to a broad range of expertise across cyber leadership, operational technology security, application security, DevSecOps and identity management.

Who should attend CISO Sydney?

CISO Sydney is designed for senior cybersecurity decision-makers, including Chief Information Security Officers, Heads of Cyber Security, Information Security Managers, Risk and Compliance Leaders, Security Architects, IT Executives and business leaders responsible for cyber resilience.

What topics are covered at CISO Sydney?

The programme focuses on the strategic, operational and leadership challenges facing cybersecurity teams.

  • AI governance and AI security
  • Cyber resilience and incident response
  • Vulnerability and exposure management
  • Identity and access management
  • Board communication and cyber reporting
  • Insider risk and data protection
  • OT and critical infrastructure security
  • Regulatory compliance and cyber risk management

Why attend CISO Sydney?

CISO Sydney is designed for security leaders navigating some of the most difficult questions in cybersecurity today, where there is often no established playbook and no clear consensus on the right answer. Rather than simply presenting the latest trends, the conference helps attendees pressure-test their thinking, benchmark their decisions against peers and explore how other organisations are responding to uncertainty, AI-driven change and evolving cyber risk.

Attendees will gain practical insights into governance, security operations, resilience, identity, exposure management, workforce capability and cyber leadership. The programme is designed to help security leaders identify where their assurance model may be creating false confidence, develop stronger approaches to communicating cyber risk to the board and better understand which risks deserve attention when everything appears urgent.

Through executive tabletop exercises, boardroom discussions, case studies and candid peer-to-peer conversations, attendees can challenge assumptions, benchmark how other leaders are adapting to AI and machine-speed threats, and explore practical approaches to reducing exposure, improving resilience and strengthening decision-making.

Unlike many cybersecurity events, CISO Sydney is built around the questions security leaders are actively trying to resolve rather than simply providing more information. The event gives attendees a place to test their thinking, learn from peers facing similar challenges and leave with practical ideas they can apply within their own organisation.

How is CISO Sydney different from other cybersecurity conferences?

The event is built around the questions CISOs are actively trying to resolve, particularly where there is no established playbook. It prioritises peer intelligence, candid discussion and practical decision-making rather than simply presenting more information.

What networking opportunities are available at CISO Sydney?

CISO Sydney provides a range of structured and informal networking opportunities designed to help attendees connect with senior cybersecurity leaders, practitioners, industry experts and technology providers from across Australia. Throughout the event, delegates can build new relationships, share experiences and discuss common challenges with peers facing similar strategic, operational and leadership issues.

Attendees can network during dedicated agenda sessions, peer discussions, roundtables and interactive formats, as well as during morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and the conference networking drinks. These breaks are designed to maximise opportunities for meaningful conversations and relationship building throughout the event. Check the CISO Sydney agenda for the latest session schedule and networking break timings.
